Hundreds of thousands of smartphone applications are taking over our lives. But just how do you reach potential user with a smartphone application? The best way is to start offline with an app coaster. We print your coasters with a QR code. When seen in a bar or café, this entices the viewer to use it with their mobile phone and reader, and then it's app and away to your landing page or website.
Sports arouse considerable emotion in life, but sport advertising needs a considerable budget in order to work. Or does it? The fan coaster playfully allows you to link those great emotions during great sporting events to a brand in a fun way, and on a small budget. KATZ prints your coaster with dermatologically tested fan face paint, so that your advert already has an extra function for anyone who wants to make a big statement on a big day!

There were times when the beer mat was made of real felt and the whiff of alcohol each evening came not just from the user, but from the beer mat itself. If enough people think something stinks, an inventor with a good nose is needed, and Casimir Otto Katz had just that! After all, the man who built railway sleepers and telegraph poles in his sawmill in the Black Forest needed a use for the left-over wood chippings. In 1903, he used a mixture of wood and water to make the first beer mats as we know them today - at the same time establishing a new material, mechanical pulp board.
But the moulded pulp coaster didn't just replace the strong-smelling felt - it also started the triumphal march of brewery advertising right there where people raise a glass. The brand companies in the drinks industry made the beer mat into a real brand. For over 100 years, no motif has been too outlandish, no printing technique - from single and multi-coloured printing to modern digital processes - too fine to be used on a KATZ beer mat. It's plain to see - the beer mat still sits right under or on top of the glass, unavoidably in the target group’s line of vision. People like them - so much so that some even steal them. Either something important or funny is printed on it to start with - that's up to you - or someone writes something important or funny on it and puts you and your advertising message in their pocket - that's not up to you. But there's one thing that beer mats have been writing for over 100 years: history and stories. A real classic!

The app can be shown on the front of the beer mat, while a QR code, a two-dimensional bar code, is printed on the back. The QR can be read using a special app on a smartphone or integrated reading software in a smartphone camera, taking the user directly to the associated HoApp, which can be downloaded. Online and offline, perfectly linked!
